BASEBALL: South Central turns back Saints

WINTERVILLE -- South Central exploded for six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and cruised past Southern Wayne, 9-2, in Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference play Wednesday afternoon.
Derek Holsinger, Aryc Chrisman (RBI), Jack Casbarro (RBI) and Noah Horton each had one hit for the Saints.
Chrisman endured the mound loss. The right-hander gave up six runs (four earned) on eight hits, walked four and struck out three in 52/3 innings.
Holsinger collected the third out.
Southern Wayne returns home today to complete first-half conference play against county rival Eastern Wayne. First pitch is 5 p.m.
