CALYPSO -- Reigning state 1-A champion Princeton erupted for six runs over the final three innings and handed Carolina 1-A Conference foe North Duplin a 6-3 loss Thursday evening.
The Bulldogs halted the Rebels' season-opening, four-game win streak.
N.C. Wesleyan signee Beth Braswell allowed three earned runs -- all in the sixth inning -- on seven hits and two walks. The right-hander struck out eight ND batters during her complete-game stint inside the circle.
Braswell paced the PHS offense with two hits.
Casey Mitchell, Reanna Braswell (RBI) and Emily Ricks (RBI) each had one hit. Freshman Michaela Radford drove in a pair of runs, while Hailey Woodall and Megan Bryant each collected an RBI.
