BOYS' BASKETBALL: Rams thump Cougars

SNOW HILL -- Don Pigford led four Greene Central players in double figures with a 77-52 romp over Goldsboro in the Eastern Carolina 2-A Conference regular-season finale contested at the "Ram Pen" on Friday evening.
Imajae Dodd (15), DonQuez Davis (12) and Raheem Edwards (12) also reached double figures for the state-ranked Rams, who improved to 22-0 overall and secured the league's automatic bid to the state playoffs.
Jaryan Hargis emerged as the Cougars' top scorer with 16 points. Isaiah Wilder contributed nine points.
Goldsboro, co-ECC champs last season, dropped to 10-11 overall and 3-7 against league opposition this season. The Cougars return home Tuesday to face South Lenoir in an opening-round ECC tournament game.
