PRINCETON -- Rosewood claimed the N.C. High School Athletic Association Class 1-A eastern individual regional team trophy by a whopping 60 points Saturday afternoon.

But the Eagles took a beating.

Especially in the semifinal round.

And just like previous Bill Edmundson-coached squads, the Eagles sweated, strained and toiled their way through the consolation rounds during the two-day, 25-team event contested at Princeton High School.

Nine Eagles booked a trip to Greensboro for the state finals.

"We came back strong through the consolations," Edmundson said. "Our experience through the season definitely paid off with all we overcame in this tournament. Our wrestlers were physical and relentless."

Rosewood is the reigning individual team state champ.

Jordan Todd (132) and Cameron Helt (182) each emerged as the regional king their respective weight classes. Todd filed a second-period technical foul against West Montgomery's, while Helt pinned Uwharrie Charter's Isaiah Martin in 3:21.

Louis Tortual (138) and Jayden Thomas (145) each logged a runner-up finish. Defending state champ Tim Decatur placed third at 102 pounds. Silbling Christian secured fourth place at 106. Three other Eagles -- Chris Hill (113), Reid Amodeo (126) and Seth Finney (152) -- also placed fourth.
