GIRLS' BASKETBALL: Wayne Christian claims Patriot Classic title

KINSTON -- Adayah Ginn buried a game-changing 3-pointer in the fourth quarter, and Wayne Christian claimed the Patriot Classic championship with a 47-43 victory over Parrott Academy.
Down 23-22 at halftime, Wayne Christian took an aggressive second-half approach on offense. The Eagles put 25 points on the board and sealed the outcome with a 9-3 run that included Ginn's triple.
Kasey Norris paced Wayne Christian with 15 points. Ginn added 10 points, while Abi Harrelson supplied eight points -- including six behind the 3-point arc. Emma Harbuck and Ashlee Harrelson provided five and four points, respectively.
The Eagles collected 22 rebounds as a team.
