* Boys' basketball: Eastern Wayne 36, South Lenoir 27 -- Junious Tyson collected 12 points, eight rebounds and four steals during the Warriors' home win on Wednesday. Rudy Spears logged eight points, five rebounds and three steals.
* Boys' basketball: Lejeune 51, North Duplin 31 -- DJ Simmons paced the Rebels' offense with 14 points.
Boys' basketball: Spring Creek 62, Lakewood 48 -- Demartae Bizzell poured in a team-high 22 points for the Gators, who won their Carolina 1-A Conference opener. Christian Yarbrough added 13 points.
