GIRLS' BASKETBALL: South Central stops EW in ECC 3A-4A opener

WINTERVILLE -- South Central knocked Eastern Wayne from the unbeaten ranks with a 53-39 victory in the Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference opener for both teams Tuesday evening.
Nyesha Best led the Warriors with nine points. Treycie Ford scored eight points, followed by Myesha Best with seven points. A total of eight EW players scratched in the scorebook.
The Warriors fell to 6-1 overall.
