SMITHFIELD -- Rosewood rallied past Corinth-Holders 44-36 and easily dispatched Neuse Charter 54-18 during a non-conference tri-meet contested at Harris Gym.
Corinth-Holders raced to a 24-6 advantage over the Eagles, the reigning state 1-A dual-team champions.
The brother tandem of Christian Decatur (106 pounds) and Tim Decatur (113) stopped the early-match surge with back-to-back falls. The Pirates won the next individual bouts before 132-pounder Louis Tortual ignited a match-clinching, 26-point run.
Tortual pinned C-H 132-pounder Josh King in 59 seconds. Teammates Jordan Todd (138), Seth Finney (142) and 160-pounder Patrick Jones each pinned their respective opponent.
Seth Finney scored a three-point decision at 152 pounds.
Cameron Helt, who ended the night 2-0, defeated his NC opponent. Hunter Weeks, Jacob Brown, Tim Decatur, Todd, Thomas and Finney each emerged victorious against Neuse Charter.
Rosewood returns to action Saturday in the 10-team Warrior Holiday Duals at Eastern Wayne.
