* Boys' basketball: Wayne Christian 61, Bethel Christian 55 -- Justin Ashford recorded a double-double -- 14 points, 14 rebounds -- in the Eagles' road win. Blake Tinker supplied 12 points and five rebounds. Jaydon Young attempted a triple-double -- 12 points, seven assists, six rebounds. Addison Johnson recorded nine points, followed by Jeremy Bentley with eight points. Will White added four points, two rebounds and four assists.
Middle schools
* Girls' basketball: Norwayne 38, Rosewood 8 -- Katie Parrish dropped in a game-high 18 points for the Cobras, who improved to 2-0 overall this season. Abbie Thomas contributed 10 pointss. Carly Radford and Kaitlyn Smith contributed three points apiece.
* Boys' basketball: Bethel Christian 23, Wayne Christian 14 -- No additional details were submitted.
* Girls' basketball: Grantham 27, Eastern Wayne 19 -- Alissa Meadows led a balanced Bulldog attack with 11 points. Morgan Kennedy scored eight points, while teammate Dmia Wright chipped in seven. Jayla Wilkens emerged as the Warriors' top scorer with seven points. Nytoria Smith collected five points. Grantham (2-0 overall) is the guest of Brogden on Monday, while Eastern Wayne (1-2) travels to Rosewood the same afternoon.
