FOOTBALL: Ayden-Grifton rolls over Goldsboro

LITTLEFIELD -- Ayden-Grifton built a three-touchdown advantage after one quarter and dominated Goldsboro, 48-6, in an Eastern Carolina 2-A Conference game Friday.
KJ Alston accounted for Goldsboro's lone touchdown -- a first-quarter, 45-yard scoring pass from Dayquell Dawson. Dawson ended the night 7 of 11 for 66 yards.
Xzavior Bowden led the Cougars with 25 yards rushing.
Defensively, senior linebacker RJ Dodson posted a team-high nine tackles. Emmanuel Persky registered five tackles. Jaiel Ashford, Zaire Edwards and Sileek Warren collected four tackles apiece.
Edwards had two tackles for loss.
Goldsboro (0-9 overall, 0-3 ECC) entertains Greene Central on Friday.
