GIRLS' TENNIS: Eastern Wayne triumphs on senior day

Eastern Wayne swept the singles courts and cruised to a 7-2, senior day victory over county and Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference foe Southern Wayne on Tuesday afternoon.
Elizabeth Sutton, Emily Uzzell, Morgan Agner, Maddie Agner, Bella Bowen and Samantha Roux each seized a straight-set win in singles play. Sutton and Roux shut out their respective opponents at the Nos. 1 and 6 flights.
Sutton-Uzzell won 8-0 at No. 1 doubles.
The Saints' tandems of Kayla Raynor-Morgan Skinner and Lauren Rich-Ivey Worrell claimed victories at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles, respectively.
Five EW seniors were recognized -- Sutton, Uzzell, Morgan Agner, Roux and Amanda Matthews.
The Warriors (6-6 overall, 6-4 ECC) travel to C.B. Aycock today.
