GREENVILLE -- Emily Newsome knocked down six kills during Eastern Wayne's 25-13, 25-6, 25-12 loss to perennial Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference foe J.H. Rose on Tuesday afternoon.
"Communication, communication communication," EW head coach Anna Hajjar said. "If you didn't talk, you came out (of the game). If we had enough players on the bench I would have taken the entire starting six out. The (team) potential is unreal. We played so hard against South Central and lost wonderfully.
"Rose was nothing special. We could have put up a better fight. but Eastern Wayne decided to go ahead and lay down, and let Rose run over them."
Jennifer Sparks and sophomore Alana Kazar combined for 14 digs.
