CROSS COUNTRY: Golden Falcons' Owens places 3rd

PIKEVILLE -- Deshawn Owens posted a third-place time of 19 minutes, 5 seconds and Charles B. Aycock took second overall in a three-team Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference meet ran Wednesday afternoon.
The Golden Falcons' John Parrish took sixth in 20:22. Mitch Castorena turned in an eighth-place effort of 20:26. Davis Carroll (20:57) and Jonathan Bowers (21:18) rounded out Aycock's five-runner score of 42.
On the girls' side, CBA's Sarah Gregory placed 12th overall. Tara Price and Kristen Stoneking crossed the finish line in 21st and 28th place, respectively.
D.H. Conley swept the team portion of the meet.
