Goldsboro-area football clinics

* The Goldsboro branch of the Eastern Carolina Football Officials Association clinics begin July 5 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Prevention and Treatment Center, 509 N. Carolina St. The meetings will continue every Monday through the end of August. Anyone interested in officiating Little League, Pop Warner, middle school and high school games are encouraged to attend. SCYA football/cheerleading

* July 9 -- Registration for Spring Creek Youth Association football and cheerleading will be from 9-11 a.m. at Spring Creek Elementary. Wayne County Amateur Junior Tour

Nine-hole stroke-play begins at 5:30. Golfers will earn points at each nine-hole tournament. The final tournament will culminate with a trophy presentation and casual meal.

Playing dates:

* July 21 at Lane Tree GC;

* July 28 at Southern Wayne CC.

Summers Academy Soccer Camp

* July 25-28 -- A half-day camp is available to rising eighth graders through seniors. It runs each day from 9 a.m.-noon and the registration fee is $80. For more information, call Summers at 919-988-0375 or email sesummers11@gmail.com.

Little Falcons Football

* Registration for Charles B. Aycock Little Falcons football is July 12, July 19 and July 26 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the CBA gym parking lot. University of Mount Olive

Baseball Camps

* July 18-20 -- An instructional camp will be conducted for players ages 9- to 14-years-old. The registration fee is $225.

* July 25-27 -- A prospect/instructional camp is open for high school players in grades nine through 12. The registration fee is $225.

A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a spot in any of the camps. Campers may also pay the entire registration fee on the first day.

Wayne Country Day

Basketball Camps

* Session I -- July 18-21. Campers in grades 1-4 will participate from 9 a.m.-noon each day. Campers in grades 5-8 will participate from 1-4 p.m. The fee is $100, but $150 if the camper attends both sessions. Campers will receive a T-shirt.

* Session II -- July 25-28. Campers in grades 1-4 will participate from 9 a.m.-noon each day. Campers in grades 5-8 will participate from 1-4 p.m. The fee is $100, but $150 if the camper attends both sessions. Campers will receive a T-shirt.

Pre-registration requires a $40 non-refundable deposit and is due prior to the week of each camp. The remaining balance is due when the camper checks in at registration. Registration is 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Camp space is limited.

Eastern NC Officials Association

* Clinics for prospective officials begin June 28 and continue through the second week of August. Officials are required to attend six clinics (a total of 12 hours), one state clinic (June 27 at Farmville Central High School) and one Association meeting (also June 27 at FCHS). Additional requirements include registering with the N.C. High School Athletic Association and Eastern N.C. Athletic Officials Association. Youth Sports Camps

* Youth volleyball camp -- Runs July 11-15 and is open for children in grades six through nine. The fee is $40. Campers will play at the W.A. Foster Center from 9 a.m.-noon each day.

* Youth golf & tennis camp -- Runs July 11-15 and is open for children ages 5- to 16-years-old. Tennis camp will be conducted Monday-Wednesday and golf will be held Thursday-Friday. The fee is $40. The camp time is 9 a.m.-noon each day.

* Adventure Camp -- Limited registration is open for children ages 8- to 17-years-old. The fee is $60 and campers must provide their own bicycle. Camp time is 9 a.m.-until each day from July 18-22.

* Beach/Fishing Camp II -- Week-long camp runs July 25-29 and is available to children ages 7- to 17-years-old. The fee is $70. Campers will have the opportunity to explore different ponds and lakes.

* Advanced Golf Camp -- Open to prospective players ages 13- to 17-years-old and runs Aug. 1-5 at Goldsboro Municipal Golf Course. The fee is $40 and the camp time 8 a.m.-noon each day.

Goldsboro High School

* July 25 -- There is a mandatory meeting for the parents all of student-athletes who wish to play fall sports. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the GHS auditorium.

* July 25-29 -- A voluntary preseason camp is planned for all prospective boys' soccer players at the track practice field across from the school. The camp runs each day from 5-7 p.m.

PROJECT JUMP

* July 28 -- Annual jumprope camp runs from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Herman Park Center. The fee is $25, which includes a jumprope. Space is limited. Single rope, long rope and double dutch will be taught. Campers need to bring a bag lunch, snack, water bottle and wear comfortable shoes. North Duplin High School

* July 28 -- A mandatory meeting for parents of any North Duplin athlete who plans on playing a fall sport begins at 7 p.m. in the school gymnasium. For more information, call North Duplin athletics director Ricky Edwards at 919-658-9337.

* Aug. 1 -- The 2016 football season officially begins at 7 p.m. Prospective players in grades nine through 12 must have a completed physical form, school athletic insurance and a completed parent permission form. Mike Martin Golf Tournament

* Aug. 28 -- Play begins at 8:30 a.m. on the Southern Wayne Country Club links. The fee is $80 per player or $320 per team, and the field will be limited to the first 200 entrants with paid fees. Registration deadline is Aug. 1. Sale Auto Mall is sponsoring a hole-in-one contest where the participant must ace a particular hole on the course to win a new car. A silent auction will also be held. All contributions will benefit the Michael Martin Memorial Scholarship Fund and the University of Mount Olive Trojan Club.
