Goldsboro 21-2, Wilson Christian 8-7

* Goldsboro split a doubleheader against Wilson Christian on the Eastern Carolina Baseball League scene Thursday afternoon.

The Cougars rolled 21-8 in the opener. Josh Hartfield collected two hits and four RBI. Brody Morton doubled and singled. Peyton Wilkins contributed two hits.

Wilson Christian prevailed 7-2 in the nightcap. Morton and Wilkins each had one hit for the Cougars.

Goldsboro is the guest of North Duplin next Monday.

Spring Creek 8, South Lenoir 2

* SEVEN SPRINGS -- Five Spring Creek pitchers saw action on the bump during an 8-2 conquest of Wilson Fike Blue in "The Swamp."

Landon Smothers, Matt Dupuy and Christian Yarbrough each threw two innings for the Gators. Bullpen mates Casey Whitfield and Jordan Amon combined for one inning.

The quintet combined for eight strikeouts.

SC's Kaden Geelen (two RBI) and Jensen Barwick (RBI) cranked out two hits apiece. Yarborough and Austin Reynolds each doubled.

Spring Creek (5-4 overall) tangles with South Lenoir next Tuesday.
