ECBL: Matthews' 2-hit outing powers CBA White

PIKEVILLE -- Clay Matthews batted 2-for-3 and scored three runs as Charles B. Aycock White rolled past Wilson Fike White during an ECBL game contested at Charles Davis Field on Monday.
Tyrie Artis, Davis Carroll (three RBI), Kaleb Moore (RBI), Ben Jones (RBI), RowanWatt and Ty Smith cranked out one hit apiece. Jakob Prebe supplied an RBI and drew two walks.
Trey Smith logged two RBI and emerged as the winning pitcher. He held Fike to two earned runs on seven hits and posted three strikeouts in a complete-game effort.
CBA White entertains South Lenoir today. Game time is 6 p.m.
