* Girls' soccer -- Wayne Country Day 3, Rocky Mount Academy 1 -- Kathryn Hamilton provided two goals and Janae Jones collected one goal during the Chargers' win on Wednesday afternoon. Hayden Neilsen, Langley Barnes and Kyra Drew supplied one assist apiece. WCDS improved to 5-0-1 overall this season.
* Boys' tennis -- Rocky Mount Academy 8, Wayne Country Day 1 -- Top-seeded Charlie Dees claimed the Chargers' lone singles point during its non-conference loss Wednesday afternoon. Dees defeated RMA's Foster McAdams 8-3.
* Baseball: C.B. Aycock 16, Southern Wayne 0 (5 inn.) -- Carson Smitherman batted 3-for-4, including two triples, and drove in six runs during the Golden Falcons' mercy-rule win. Tyler Daniels, Luke Frederick, Zack Brewer (RBI), Blake Gipson and Nick Aycock (two RBI) each had two hits. CBA had 15 hits as a team. Jordan Gay and Cody Whaley combined for a four-hitter on the mound. Whaley emerged as the winning pitcher.
