Phillips handcuffs Vikings, CBA pulls out 2-1 road win

HOLLYWOOD CROSSROADS -- Charles B. Aycock remained unbeaten in Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference play with a 2-1 victory over perennial powerhouse D.H. Conley on Thursday evening.
Allie Phillips scattered three hits and struck out two Viking batters during a complete-game effort inside the circle. The Pitt Community College signee is 6-1 this season.
Mookie Powell, Madison Walton, Allison Shingleton, Cassandra Lassiter and Taylor Waddell led the Golden Falcons' offense with one hit apiece.
DHC pitcher Emily Kirby took the loss.
C.B. Aycock (19-1 overall, 8-0 ECC) entertains South Central next Tuesday. Game time is 6 p.m.
