SALEMBURG -- Copeland Brickhouse delivered the game-winning hit in the top of the seventh, and North Duplin defeated Lakewood, 5-4, in a Carolina 1-A Conference game.
Tied at 4-all, DJ Morrisey drew a one-out walk to start the Rebels' final rally. One out later, Morrisey scored on Brickhouse's single -- his second hit of the game. Brickhouse finished with two RBI.
"I was pleased with the focus we had from start to finish," ND head coach Chuck Crumpler said. "We did the small things right during this game with Lakewood and the kids battled the whole game. (It was a) great game for both teams."
Chase King batted 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI. Dylan Jones had two hits and an RBI.
ND hurler Colby Bass walked two and retired 10 Lakewood batters on strikeouts. Ricky Cameron earned the save.
