EW softball slugs its way past Faith Christian

Chloe Smith cranked out a season and career-high five hits as Eastern Wayne slugged its way past Faith Christian, 21-18, in non-conference action.
Chelsea Wynn contributed four hits.
Smith and Jaela Parks drove in five runs apiece for the Warriors.
The teams were tied 8-8 after four innings. They combined to score 23 runs over the final three innings. Eastern Wayne had 25 hits, while Faith Christian -- the N.C. Christian Schools Association 2-A state runner-up each of the past two seasons -- had 20 hits.
There were 13 errors in the game.
