Eastern Wayne celebrated senior day in dominating fashion and snapped its three-match skid with an 8-1 conquest of county and Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference foe Southern Wayne on Tuesday afternoon.
Top-seeded Ethan Quinn, Dylan March, Le Solomon, Walker Davis, Gray Sasser and Nathan Fleming each posted a straight-set victory in singles play. Quinn, March, Sasser and Fleming each shut out their respective opponent.
Quinn-Solomon and Ian Burchett/Yoseph Yan each prevailed in doubles.
Southern's No. 2 doubles of Christian Chase-Anthony Best defeated the Warriors' Tim Davis-Cameron Martin 8-3.
Eastern Wayne (10-3 overall, 8-3 ECC) concludes regular-season play Thursday at archrival Charles B. Aycock. A victory clinches the league's lone automatic bid to the 3-A dual-team playoffs.
