MOUNT OLIVE -- Queens University of Charlotte saved a last-second shot and slipped past No. 17-ranked University of Mount Olive, 9-8, in a non-conference women's lacrosse match Thursday evening.
The No. 11-ranked Royals turned a 5-3 halftime deficit around with six goals in the second half.
The Trojans attempted a shot that hit off the post during the final minute. They picked up the rebound and fired another shot that was snagged by the Queens goalie, who cleared the ball to preserve the road win.
Riann Daziel paced the Trojans' offense with five goals. Candace Corkin, Caitlin Sabadish and Saffron Snethen provided one goal apiece. Claire Wigler, Alysha Kulka and Sabadish each had one assist.
UMO goalie Hannah Knight recorded 10 saves.
The Trojans (10-5 overall) return home Saturday for senior day against Conference Carolinas foe Erskine. Game time is 4 p.m. at Amon Field.
