Gators take over sole possession of Carolina 1A baseball lead

Will Rouse tossed a complete-game seven-hitter as Spring Creek upended Carolina 1-A Conference rival Rosewood, 5-1, on Tuesday afternoon.
Rouse retired five Eagles on strikeouts as the Gators (8-5 overall) seized sole possession of first place in the conference at 5-0. Levi Miller and Josh Lebron each had two hits for Spring Creek.
Hunter Walker, Rouse (RBI), Landon Smothers (RBI), Casey Whitfield (RBI) and Matt Dupuy contributed one hit apiece. The Gators stole five bases and head coach Heath Whitfield said the team executed well on two-out opportunities.
Jonathan Peacock and Tucker Chapin each pounded out two hits for Rosewood. Ethan Chapin, Derek Neal and Hayden Amodeo each had one hit.
Kolby Harris suffered the mound loss.
