Middle schools
* Softball: Ahoskie Ridgecroft 14-8, Wayne Christian 12-7 -- Brianna Verme cranked out three hits and endured the mound loss in game one of the doubleheader. Teammate Abigail Kornegay provided a triple. Kornegay took the mound loss in the nightcap. Wayne Christian entertains Cape Fear Christian next Monday.
* Girls' soccer: Norwayne 2, Dillard 0 -- Keeper Taylor Smith logged four saves in goal and earned the shutout for the Cobras. Haley Martin and Lydia Butler punched in one goal apiece for Norwayne. Colleen Jones handed out one assist.
