Golf

Rosewood takes first

* SALEMBURG -- Dylan Champion posted an 18-hole score of 84 as Rosewood emerged victorious in a Carolina 1-A Conference meet contested at Lakewood Country Club on Monday afternoon.

Jeremy Mercer (88), Dylan Greene (89) ad Cameron Klages (94) completed the Eagles' four-player total of 355 -- 20 strokes lower than meet host Lakewood.

Andrew Ingram also participated for the Eagles.

Princeton finished third in team competition with a 388, followed by Spring Creek (409), James Kenan (412) and Hobbton (413).

Spencer Woodard led PHS with a 92. Forrest Tanner and Matthew Herring submitted scorecards of 97 and 98, respectively.

Lakewood's Griffin Faircloth claimed medalist honors with a 73 -- three strokes better than runner-up Cole Pridgen of James Kenan.

Jackson leads Eagles

* SANFORD -- Wayne Chrisitan's Logan Jackson posted a nine-hole round of 53 during in a six-team meet contested on the Sanford Municipal Country Club links Monday afternoon.

Miciaiah Singletary added a 53 for the Eagles. Teammates Braxton Flores and Adam Flores carded scores of 58 and 60, respectively.

Lane Tree LGA

* Sherry Minner claimed game-of-the-week honors while playing from the red tees during competition on the Lane Tree Golf Club links. Mary Ann Sutton and Barbara Hill won low net and low putts, respectively.

Novella Zambelli was the GOW winner from the forward tees. Linda Watson took low net and Libby Newsome secured low putts.

Boys' tennis

Wilson Fike 9, C.B. Aycock 0

* WILSON -- Perennial Big East 3-A powerhouse Wilson Fike swept the singles and doubles courts during a 9-0, non-conference conquest of Charles B. Aycock on Monday afternoon.

The Golden Falcons dropped to 4-4 overall this season.
