NEWTON GROVE -- Rheanna Ried punched in the game-deciding goal just two minutes before halftime as reigning Carolina 1-A Conference champion Spring Creek defeated Hobbton, 4-1.
Madison Harkay assisted on Ried's goal.
The Gators' Mirna Santiago broke the scoreless tie in the 28th minute. After Ried's goal, SC tallied two second-half scores -- both by Harkay. Santiago and Amber Buchan were credited with the assists.
