Aycock's Mooneyham prevails in pair of distance races

WINTERVILLE -- Joseph Mooneyham emerged victorious in two distance events and Charles B. Aycock placed third overall during a three-team, Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference meet contested at South Central.
Central won the meet followed by county rival J.H. Rose.
Mooneyham captured first in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4 minutes, 59 seconds. He returned later in the day to win the 3,200 in 11:11. Teammate Cameron Sims finished second in both events.
The Golden Falcons' quartet of Devontez Tillman, Berry Ellis, Micah Castillo and Tayquan Hampton won the 400 relay.
Aycock returns to action March 23 at South Central. The teams will be joined by New Bern.
