PIKEVILLE -- Madison Walton swatted her first home run of the season, and Charles B. Aycock turned back perennial 2-A powerhouse North Lenoir, 4-1, on Thursday evening.
Abbie Walton (RBI) and Taylor Puetz (RBI) provided two hits apiece for the Golden Falcons, who improved to 2-0 overall under first head coach -- and former assistant -- LaVon Matthews.
Puetz also doubled.
Allison Shingleton threw a complete game inside the circle. She retired two Hawks on strikeouts and didn't issue a walk.
Allison Montague paced North Lenoir's offense with two hits.
C.B. Aycock visits North Lenoir (1-1) next Wednesday.
