Warriors open ECC 3A-4A boys' tennis season in shutout fashion

WINTERVILLE -- Eastern Wayne launched its 2016 season with a 9-0 thrashing of South Central in the Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference opener for both teams.
Le Solomon, Ethan Quinn, Ian Burchett, Gray Sasser, Walker Davis and Nathan Fleming each emerged victorious in straight-set fashion during singles play. Quinn posted a shutout at No. 2 singles. Sasser and Fleming each dropped one game in their respective matches.
The doubles of Solomon-Quinn, Burchett-Fleming and Sasser-Davis each claimed a decisive win.
Eastern Wayne (1-0 overall, 1-0 ECC) entertains New Bern today.
