Rosewood couldn't overcome seven walks and three defensive errors during its season-opening, 10-2 loss to Midway.
"No doubt about it, we struggled tonight," Eagles head coach Shay Campbell said. "We did not get the hits we needed and when we did, it was too little too late. I was impressed with our freshman pitcher, Kaitlyn Kincaid, as she went the entire seven innings.
"She struggled a little bit, but was to be expected. I expect that she will get better as the season progresses."
Kincaid yielded seven hits and retired two Midway batters on strikeouts.
Rosewood collected two runs on six hits and three walks.
The Eagles (0-1 overall) return to action Monday at Midway. Campbell said Friday's game at West Craven has been "postponed until further notice."
