Rosewood girls in Carolina 1A tourney final

SALEMBURG -- Rosewood advanced to the Carolina 1-A Conference tournament championship with a 64-27 thrashing of Neuse Charter.
The top-seeded Eagles oppose Lakewood tonight.
Lexi Mercer knocked down 32 points on 9 of 13 shooting from the floor. The senior guard pulled down seven rebounds and picked the Cougars for eight steals.
Jala Holloman contributed 12 points, four rebounds and five assists. Hannah Daniels provided seven points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals. Alyssa Garrison collected five points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals. Payton Lane scored five points in her return from appendicitis.
Tayzlie Tripple wiped the boards for 11 rebounds. Tripple, Mercer and Daniels combined for five blocked shots.
