Rosewood stays unbeaten on Carolina 1A girls hoops scene

CALYPSO -- Two-time defending Carolina 1-A Conference champion Rosewood built a 17-point lead after one quarter and cruised past North Duplin, 53-19, on Friday evening.
Lexi Mercer and Jala Holloman paced the Eagles' offense with 17 points and 12 points, respectively. Mercer also logged seven rebounds, six steals and three assists.
Alyssa Garrison passed out five assists.
Rosewood had 23 steals as a team.
Daja Aycock led the Rebels with nine points. Rylee Pate scored eight points.
Rosewood (10-3 overall, 5-0 CC) travels to Neuse Charter next Friday, while North Duplin (1-10, 0-5) concludes first-half conference play at home against Hobbton the same evening.
