HAWN CUP: UMO ranks 2nd overall

HIGH POINT -- University of Mount Olive ranks second overall and the men's program holds the top spot in Joby Hawn Cup competition after completion of the fall sports season in Conference Carolinas play.
The Trojans trail Limestone 51.5-44 in the overall Cup standings.
UMO leads Limestone, 19-18, in the men's Cup race. The Trojans are third in the women's Cup race with 25 points behind leader Limestone (33.5) and Belmont Abbey (27.5).
The Trojans won championships in men's and women's cross country, and recorded top-four finishes in men's and women's soccer.
"We stand second in the Hawn Cup after the fall sports, and we've been (either) first or second in each of the last four years," said Jeff Eisen, UMO vice president for athletics. "The Hawn Cup is a point of emphasis for our department because it represents excellence across the board with all teams contributing to this award.
"We are proud to have established ourselves as one of the top athletics programs in Conference Carolinas."
