* Boys' basketball: Wayne Christian 60, Pitt Pacers 46 -- Jaxon Anderson pumped in a team-high 14 points, snared five rebounds, dished out four assists and picked the Pacers' pockets for six steals. Logan Jackson contributed 10 points and six rebounds. Jayden Young logged seven points, three rebounds and four assists. Micaiah Singletary recorded eight points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals. Will White (six points), Jeremy Bentley (three points), Austin Strickland (three rebounds), Gavin Wiley (six points), Wilson Tabe (four points, six rebounds) and Jaxon Bauer (three rebounds, four blocked shots) also contributed to the win.
* Girls' basketball: Midway 28, Princeton 18 -- Jordan Benson paced Princeton with eight points and four steals. Teammate Casey Mitchell added four points and six steals.
* Girls' basketball: Southern Wayne 52, Cleveland 23 -- Machiah Moore emerged as the Saints' leading scorer with 20 points. La'miyah Pearsall chipped in 11 points, while Caroline Summerlin registered nine points. The Saints (1-1 overall) are the guests of county rival Goldsboro on Wednesday.
