* Girls' basketball: Charles B. Aycock 19, North Lenoir 9 -- Sophomore Darilyn Lancaster and freshman Kania Slocum pumped in six points apiece for the Golden Falcons, who improved to 2-0 overall. Freshman Sharon Moorefield (four points) and freshman Taylor Gay (three points) rounded out the scoring. Aycock held North Lenoir scoreless in the second quarter and led 13-2 at halftime.
* Boys' basketball: Charles B. Aycock 32, North Lenoir 26 -- Marquez Farmer paced the Golden Falcons' offense with nine points. Freshman Greg Jones and sophomore Jordan Woodard supplied six points apiece. Muhammad Brooks made CBA's lone 3-pointer. The Golden Falcons (2-0 overall) are the guests of Goldsboro on Friday.
