Rosewood teammates Zack Hinnant and Josh Jernigan placed first and second, respectively, in the pole vault during a season-opening, six-team meet contested on the Eagles' home track.

Sophomore Bryton Lambeth claimed the boys' shot put with a throw of 36 feet, 10 inches. Alexandria Hill posted a meet-winning time of 6 minutes, 56 seconds in the 1,600-meter run.

Freshman DeVonte Phillips placed second in the 300 dash and finished two seconds shy of qualifying for the season-ending state meet. The Eagles' 800 relay of Zack Barnes, Montonio Wheeler, Marquail Almontaser and Mike Woodard came within four seconds of logging a state qualifying time.

Dalton Farmer came within four seconds of reaching the state meet in the 1,000.

The Eagles return to action next Tuesday at Princeton.
