Matt Kierski notched two goals during Wayne Country Day's 6-0 triumph over Freedom Christian in a Coastal Plains 1-A/2-A Independent Conference game contested on a rain-soaked pitch Tuesday afternoon.
Tony Townsend, Hunter Bryson, Charlie Roethling and Blaine Creger supplied one goal apiece. Roethling converted a penalty kick.
Jacob Magera and Ben Cohen delivered two assists apiece. Hunter Hawkins contributed one assist.
The Chargers posted their 10th shutout of the season.
"We played well today considering the conditions and the field taking a beating from the rain the past few days," WCDS head coach Steve Ellis said. "It took us a couple of minutes to settle, but when we did, we played fluently. It was a nice team performance and everybody put in a shift for the team."
Wayne Country Day (13-2-1 overall, 3-1 CPIC) travel to Pope John Paul Catholic II High School on Thursday.
