PREPS DIGEST -- JV, middle schools

* Volleyball: Freedom Christian d. Wayne Christian 25-16, 25-13 -- Kyara Drew and Lexi Jeffreys logged one kill and one ace apiece for the Chargers. Katie Strickland (one assist), Cate Eagles (one assist) and Graysen Jeffreys (one ace) each scratched on the stat sheet. Wayne Country Day (4-7 overall) is the guest of Wayne Christian on Thursday.

* Girls' tennis: Arendell-Parrott Academy 9, Wayne Country Day 0 -- Representing the Chargers were Nancy Chen, Hanna McKeithan, Cady Stanley, Martie Rose, Diya Shreenath, Grace O'Daniel and Louise Gurley. The Chargers (0-5 overall) entertain Princeton today.

* Volleyball: Rosewood d. North Duplin 25-14, 25-12 -- The Eagles scored a total of 15 points with Braylee Butts, Allana Atwell and Toree Marak at the service line. Butts delivered three assists. Marak provided one block and two kills. Maddie Honn and Demetria Percival each contributed one kill. The Eagles (6-5 overall) improved to 4-2 in Carolina 1-A Conference play this season.

* Volleyball: Wayne Christian d. Cresset Christian 25-21, 25-22 -- Amanda Morrell paced the Eagles with eight kills and five service aces. Yasmyne Vann added three kills, while Madison Wells registered two kills and two aces. Abi Harrelson and Lauren Stallard combined to hand out 10 assists. Wayne Christian (6-3 overall) entertains county rival Wayne Country Day on Thursday.

* Volleyball: Goldsboro d. Kinston 25-12, 25-20 -- McKayla Roberts served eight aces and recorded three kills in the Cougars' straight-set road win. Goldsboro is the guest of South Lenoir on Thursday.

Middle schools

* Volleyball: Christ Covenant d. Wayne Christian 25-22, 26-24, 25-18 -- The Eagles (2-7 overall) entertain Wayne Country Day on Thursday. First serve is 4 p.m. inside Clifford Gymnatorium.

* Volleyball: Wayne Country Day d. Freedom Christian 25-12, 25-13 -- Katie Strickland served a team- and match-high 10 aces to go along with one kill and two assists. Graysen Jeffreys contributed seven aces, one kill and two digs. Cate Eagles provided one ace, one dig and four assists. Lexi Jeffreys registered one ace, four kills and two digs. Summer Daniels had one kill and one ace. The Chargers (6-1 overall) visit Wayne Christian on Thursday.

* Volleyball: Spring Creek d. Grantham 25-15, 25-23, 21-25, 25-16 -- Virginia Edmondson, Emily Dupuy and Amanda Haggerty emerged as the Gators' offensive leaders. Spring Creek (4-1 overall) entertains Eastern Wayne on Thursday.
