Leopards squelch Rebels' 2nd-half comeback

SALEMBURG -- Lakewood erupted for three goals during an 18-minute span and upended North Duplin, 3-2, on the Carolina 1-A Conference scene Monday afternoon.
The Leopards scored in the 10th, 23rd and 29th minutes.
Greg Hildago-Moreno converted a penalty kick for the Rebels 91/2 minutes into the second half. He added his second goal in the 68th minute.
North Duplin keeper Luis Martinez recorded 11 of his 15 saves in the second half.
The Rebels (5-2-0 overall, 1-1-0 CC) entertain Spring Creek on Wednesday. Kickoff is 6 p.m. at H.E. Grubbs Field.
