CALYPSO -- North Duplin rushed for 285 yards in the opening quarter and dismantled South Lenoir, 58-24, at H.E. Grubbs Field on Friday evening.
The Rebels snapped a two-game skid.
JP Payton, Melik Williams, Emiliano Mora and Kenny Sheppard each accounted for a touchdown within a 101/2-minute stretch in the first period.
ND led 27-8 after 12 minutes of action.
Mora led the Rebels' ground game with 153 yards on 10 carries. Payton added 143 yards on just six carries, while Williams rushed for 85 yards on 16 totes.
Sheppard rushed for two TDs, while Gage Smith had one.
Payton completed just one pass -- a 49-yard scoring strike to Terrion Addison as time expired in the opening half.
Luke Britt's 38-yard interception return and Williams' 56-yard fumble return -- both in the third quarter -- all but put the game out of reach.
The Rebels amassed 509 yards of total offense.
North Duplin (1-2 overall) is the guest of Pender next Friday.
