PREPS DIGEST: JV, middle schools

JV

* Boys' soccer: Wayne Country Day 3, The Oakwood School 0 -- David Gurley punched in two goals for the Chargers, who rose to 5-0-0 overall this season. Nehemiya Shaw converted Wayne Country Day's first goal on a corner kick from Drew Barnes.

* Girls' volleyball: The Oakwood School d. Wayne Country Day 25-5, 25-22 -- Lexi Jeffreys had one ace, two kills and one dig. Madison Britton and Jaden DisDier logged one kill apiece. The Chargers (1-4 overall) entertain St. Mary's on Sept. 8.

* Girls' volleyball: Princeton d. Rosewood 25-13, 25-20 -- Braylee Butts had one kill and three digs for the Eagles. Teammate Jala Holloman contributed two kills and two digs. Rosewood dropped to 4-4 overall and 1-1 against Carolina Conference opposition.

Middle schools

* Girls' volleyball: Wayne Country Day d. Oakwood 25-20, 25-16 -- Grayson Jeffreys served 10 aces and had two digs defensively. Katie Strickland added six aces, two kills, two assists and one dig. Cate Eagles collected three aces and three assists. Lexi Jeffreys provided two aces, three kills, two digs and one assist. The Chargers remained unbeaten in four matches this season.
