J.H. Rose earned the match-clinching point at No. 2 doubles and turned back Eastern Wayne, 5-4, in an Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference match Thursday afternoon.
The Warriors collected singles points from Samantha Roux and Bella Bowen. The tandems of Elizabeth Sutton-Brennan Dove and Morgan Agner-Bowen each picked up a doubles point.
The Rampants won 8-2 at No. 2 doubles.
"This match could have gone either way," EW head coach Craig Hassell said. "I'm proud of the way our team battled. We lost another 5-4 match last week at New Bern, but our girls believe they can compete and win against any team in this conference."
Eastern Wayne (1-3 overall, 1-2 ECC) visits D.H. Conley next Tuesday.
