Rosewood exploded for 27 points in the second and third quarters combined, and throttled North Johnston, 41-20, at Branch Pope Field on Friday evening.
Senior Mike Woodard accounted for 196 yards of total offense, including 155 yards on the ground. He logged three touchdowns for the Eagles, who improved to 1-1 overall this season.
Quarterback Cameron Helt rushed for 97 yards and completed eight passes for 91 yards to three different receivers -- Marquail Al-montaser (81 yards), Woodard and Zack Barnes (4 yards). Al-montaser had a TD reception and rushed for 28 yards and another TD.
"I was very pleased with our total team effort tonight," RHS head coach Robert Britt said. "I thought our coaches did a great job of getting our players ready for a strong opponent. We were focused tonight. We didn't allow bad plays to affect the next play, and most importantly we improved from last week.
"Our goal every week is to be better than the week before."
Rosewood is the guest of Midway next Friday.
