SNOW HILL -- Greene Central dominated Charles B. Aycock, 57-0, in a lights-out game -- literally -- on Friday.

The field went dark for 15 minutes.

And there was a question as to whether the Golden Falcons would overcome a 43-point first-half deficit.

They would not.

Junior Jake Flowers, the newly-implemented quarterback C.B. Aycock, attempted long passes to wide receiver Chandler Matthews. Most of the overthrown launches landed untouched in the end zone. Flowers handed the ball off to Caleb Gough on fourth-quarter drives, but the junior running back could not permeate the Rams' defense.

"He (Flowers) wasn't (as) consistent as last week," Aycock head coach Steve Brooks.

Rather than focus on the shortcomings of his team, Brooks credited the Rams' "excellent coaching staff."

Credit also went to Greene Central quarterback Tre Wade. The senior completed eight touchdown passes to Stephen Buckley, including six in the first half.

"Offense (was) perfect," Greene Central head coach Allen Wooten said.

Nothing seemed to derail the Rams as the Golden Falcons attempted to stop the "perfect" offense. At the end of the first quarter, Golden Falcons junior Tim Farmer appeared as a brick wall when Buckley slammed into him for a defensive stop.

It did not stop the rest of the Rams. Greene Central continued to score as the clock continuously ran due to the mercy rule.

"We lost to a competitive team," said Brooks, whose team managed just 119 yards of total offense. "We need to work to improve."
