ECBL: Johnson throws complete-game as EW defeats Orange, 6-5

PIKEVILLE -- Brock Johnson scattered eight hits in a complete-game performance as Eastern Wayne upended Pikeville Orange, 6-5, in an Eastern Carolina Baseball League game Friday evening.
Johnson yielded five runs (three earned), walked three and logged one strikeout during his 100-pitch outing. He drove in two runs on offense.
Ryan Warren emerged as the offensive leader with three hits and three RBI in three official at-bats. Case Kermode (RBI), Cole Steiner, Jason Mitchell, Mike Wiggins and Carlyle Smith provided one hit apiece.
Steiner stole one base.
Eastern Wayne overcame four defensive errors and left eight runners on base. The Warriors entertain Wayne Country Day on Monday.
