Wayne Country Day handed fellow Coastal Plains Independent 1-A/2-A member Greenfield a pair of shutout losses on the Wayne Community College courts.
The Chargers won the completion of a suspended match, 5-0. They emerged victorious 9-0 in the second match.
Eighth-grader Sam Dively, a returning all-state player, finished the day 2-0 along with four teammates -- Preston Edwards, Hunter Hawkins, Lance Davis and Nolan Davis. Young Wang won his lone singles match.
Dively-Edwards, Hawkins-L. Davis and Wang-N. Davis completed the sweep in doubles in the second match.
Today's home battle with Statesville Christian has been cancelled.
Wayne Country Day (7-5 overall) is projected to receive an at-large bid to the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association Class 1-A dual-team playoffs. The Chargers reached the semifinals last season.
