PIKEVILLE -- Perennial powerhouse Fayetteville Terry Sanford eliminated Charles B. Aycock, 6-0, from the N.C. High School Athletic Association Class 3-A dual-team playoffs.
"The guys gave a great effort, but were just out-played today," first-year CBA head coach RJ Allen said. "Terry Sanford had a great team and did a great job tonight against our guys. We are now looking forward to the individual regional tournament starting this Friday."
The doubles tandems of Chas Hooks-Allan Best and Stanton Head-Nick Coston are representing the Golden Falcons in the NCHSAA eastern regional, which begins Friday afternoon at Barton College.
The top four finishers in singles and doubles advance to the state tournament in Burlington.
