Bears beat Warriors on 8th-inning walk-off homer

NEW BERN -- Victor Spellman swatted a two-run, walk-off home run in the bottom of the eighth inning, and lifted New Bern past Eastern Wayne, 2-0, in an Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference game played at Boykin Field on Friday evening.
The Bears out-hit the Warriors, 6-2.
New Bern senior left-hander Collin Schmid limited Eastern Wayne to two hits and retired 13 batters on strikeouts.
Tanner Wells endured the mound loss for the Warriors in a 95-pitch outing.
Eastern Wayne (10-4 overall) slipped to 5-3 against ECC opposition this season.
