ECC 2A champ, regional-bound Goldsboro dominates on the links

Matt Hall continued his quest for Eastern Carolina 2-A Conference player-of-the-year accolades with a medalist round of 3-over-par 74 on the Goldsboro Municipal Golf Course links Monday afternoon.
Ty West added a 78 for the Cougars, who have already secured their second consecutive ECC 2-A regular-season championship and berth in the N.C. High School Athletic Association eastern regional. Luke McAlduff and Ruben Quiroz completed Goldsboro's four-player total of 320 with 18-hole scores of 83 and 85, respectively.
Cam Anderson and Andrew Boldt also competed for the Cougars.
Regional-bound North Lenoir matched its season-low team score (360) behind Nicholes Kennedy and Nathan Byrd, who each shot an 86. Luke McLawhorn carded a 91, while Cameron Minyard shot a 97.
Parker Harrison emerged as South Lenoir's top golfer with an 86. Jeffrey Bubak led Greene Central with a 97.
The teams conclude play with their season-ending ECC 2-A tournament Apr. 23 at Cutter Creek outside of Snow Hill. The meet begins at 1 p.m.
