Spring Creek claims Carolina 1A softball shutout

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Ashley Marriner and Rachel McCollum combined for 10 strikeouts inside the pitcher's circle during a 10-0, mercy-rule conquest of Carolina 1-A Conference foe Hobbton on Monday.
Methodist University commit Sarah Ford, Marriner, McCollum and Hailey Jones each connected on a double. Sydney Ocker, Nikki Linker and Sam Crouch provided one hit apiece.
The Gators travel to North Duplin today.
